Going French

I love French food and today I’m hosting a lunch. As it’s a beautiful sunny day, I thought a light salad would be the star of the menu.

Our friends gave us some beautiful eggs straight from their hen house so I was inspired to try Salad Niçoise!

Lovely sweet potato was in the pantry so I’ve added that to the mix for a colourful twist. And of course anchovies! I am addicted to their flavour! These culinary beauties add the most wonderful taste and I encourage everyone to use them in their cooking, even if they aren’t the most aesthetic of ingredients!

So voila, Salad Niçoise sweet potato style. Bon Appetit!

From Patch to Plate

There’s something very satisfying about making a delicious dinner. And when you’ve grown your own ingredients, there’s that extra bit of pride!

Hubby dished up a delish dish of tomato baked free range chicken on a bed of sweet potato mash sprinkled with his very own flat leaf parsley! Super cool, very aromatic and very satisfying to eat!

And, check out the bunch of flowers he picked for me… And that we’ll be steaming up tonight! Beautiful crisp broccoli!

Growing and gobbling up your own food totally rocks!
